New 12 month MOT Best fuel economy I had was putting 80 Pounds in and getting 570Miles. New Wheel Bearings on both front tyres 6 month old Brake Disc and Pads on front tyres Small amount of welding done for last MOT I describe this campervan either as a 'hippy' wagon or as my 'cabin in the woods, except on wheels', its truly one of a kind:-) Perfect for wild camping, looks like a trade vehicle and nothing like a campervan! I haven't paid for overnight parking in over 6months of use! Heating: Professionally insulated by the previous owner, the walls have base layer of aluminium foil, followed by aluminium bubble mat, WOOL! then plywood lined and then carpeted over the top. This van is second to none in all my campervan encounters, it is ridiculously warm, and that is because of the the layer of WOOL that I am yet to see in other vans, I travelled through the UK in winter (top of Scotland, outer hebrides, Ireland) and only needed to use the fireplace probably 10-15 times! It has a Wood burner that is a converted gas canister and a Methane tester to make sure you don't get the old death poison in your lungs. The fireplace is ridiculous! In sub zero temperatures the van will turn into a sauna within 15 mins! Works perfectly. Storage: I have two surfboards strapped to the inside ceiling, not in the way at all. A compartment over the driver cab can fit bags, blankets. A small shelf that runs the length of the van at about head hight for spices, cooking supplies and a book shelf. Under the bed and in the rear doors is a two level shelf system that can fit a phenomenal amount of stuff, I have wood, some draws with food etc, tools, a spare sleeping mattress, full set of sleeping sheets and pillows, a bunch of outdoors stuff and camping gear etc. you get the picture. And of course there are roof racks! The Bed: The bed is supremely comfortable, it is a mattress with memory foam over top! It is about 5"8 long and normal width of a single bed, I am 6' (183cms) and I fit in perfectly on a slight angle, length has never ever bothered me. It has easily slept two people in it with no problem. There is a fold out mattress and full set of bedding and lots of spare blankets etc for a second bed to be set up on the ground floor. Lighting: This is a candle lit camper:-) Ohhhh and it is probably one of the best things after the wood burner, it really does cause a switch in your mind frame when living by candle light. There is an emergency back light which works from the starter battery but this is really only in emergencies and I think I only used it 5 or so times. You just don't need it. I have made little hanging candle holders and that work well to distribute the light around the van for cooking, reading and socialising. Cozy/comfort factor: Can take up to 3 people in seat belted seats however it can sleep up to 4 comfortably (two beds with two in each). On one trip one of the guys was over 6'2. I think the perfect number is 2:-) I intentionally chose not to have any seats, we were never designed for those things anyway! The seating is on ground pillows that are on a nice red rug, with a carpet layer underneath that. There is a small table that I use to prepare food etc, but when not being used for food has a blanket over the top that can be used to sit on if thats your thing. All in all the most I have had is 6 people, 4 inside and two on deck chairs out the front. 4 people inside is probably the most you would want, but you can put two more on the bed if required in a storm or something. There are fall rugs between then drivers cab and the living area that keep it private and warm. There are a few other designer rugs plastered onto the ceilings and walls as well, very cool. All in all the van is very serene, the first time I got into it I felt really relaxed, and that hasn't changed to this day. It has a calming effect :-) Honestly not having all the electronic power points and lights is one of the best things about this van, you really don't need that stuff! this all adds to the very relaxing atmosphere created in the camper. Simplicity/Uncluttered: No power points etc. I have a AC/DC inverter that I power my laptop with through the front 12v when I am driving somewhere. I also have a 12v charger for my phone when I am driving. Seriously this is all you need, there were two of us doing this for over a month and we never had an issue. Both of us used skype, instagram and whats app and we never had power issues , as a little bonus if you park up for a while in the last couple of months I replaced the main battery and have left the old one under the bed with a 12v adapter hooked up so that you can charge for that too (not really required though). I have a battery charger in the van for when the battery runs out too! There is no toilet, again this was never ever a problem, if I was in the middle of no where I dug a hole, if I was in a town or city I used public toilets or went to a cafe etc. Never ever was an issue, something I wasn't sure about when I set off but honestly don't bother with a portable toilet, you easily get by without them. No shower, but but I found one of the most enjoyable and slightly awakening routines I had was to to bath in rivers and lakes every couple of days, was a lot of fun:-) Sink...I used a bucket and either did it in the van then tipped it out or I used rivers and lakes. Again, no issue at all. There is a single gas hob hooked up to a large canister under the bed..I thought it was going to run out so got a new canister hahah you are probably good to go for a bout 5 years with the amount of gas there now! Having one canister was all that is required, too many campervans have 2 or 4 and its just not required! I have cooked for up to 6 people with one hob and it was never and issue, having one hob gives me far more living space which is very noticeable when comparing with other vans. I dont have an electric fridge but I do have a natural fridge, basically under the bed the gas canister releases cold air, I sealed off the area using some plastic and other material to create a very cold area. Whenever I open it up you can really feel the cold air come flooding out. I never ever had a problem with this set up, I would normally shop for fresh food every 3-4 days but sometimes out to a week and the only thing that ever went funky on me was spinach, but hey spinach does that in a normal fridge if you goes past its bb date. A extensive set of tools will be provided with the van as well, I think the value would be in the 100's so its a good accessary to get thrown in. There are no mechanical or body issues with the van that I know of, I see no reason why it cant be picked up and go straight on an adventure with a new owner. The van is registered as a Campervan with DVLA and so for those non-EU/UK residents you will be able to get insurance. Everything in the van comes with it, everything needed for cooking, sleeping, living! This includes GPS, Maps, Blankets, medical kit, European road kit. Plus all the accessories to get in a go….you won’t need to buy anything or do any work on the van…it is ready to go! I will be in my current location for about 5-6 days, be in quick if you want to view before I move. I am likely, but not decided yet, to go to Oxford area after this. I am wanting to sell this asap so highest bid (within reasonable range of my asking price) is likely to win this amazing wagon! Oh and I am only selling to people that view the van, no bids or offers will be accepted until you view the van. Payment is PAYPAL, Bank Transfer or CASH.
